Anne Julia was born in Berlin, Germany’s vibrant capital, a city full of art and entrepreneurship.
While still a teenager, and studying at a Catholic school in Berlin she started modeling, which began as a total coincidence: A German model scout of the former Metropolitan Models Agency discovered her on the street.
Straight away, at the ages of fifteen, Anne Julia was introduced to clients and was embellished on the cover of major teen magazine “CHICA” in Germany.
At turning sixteen, she began to spend time abroad in fashion cities Barcelona, Istanbul and Hong Kong, recording TV commercials for the likes of Spanish telephone company ONO and modeling at trade fashion fair Bread&Butter for Jeans Label “True Religion”.
It is here that her challenge of balancing between education and passion began.
Despite this task, Anne Julia never gave up on her quest for variety and her thirst for knowledge, culture and the Performing Arts with great ambitions to achieve her goals in both worlds.
Owing to her family’s support and love, as well as her great will to reach out for what the world can offer her, she graduated from school, gained a bachelor degree in Cultural, English and American Studies, and majored in the master of Military Studies at the University of Potsdam. It is here that Anne Julia is currently enrolled and attending an individual Ph.D. program on NATO and intercultural competence.
This whole time, she managed to finance her Studies with her modeling career. National and international clients like German and Austrian catalogs “Otto”, “Bon Prix” and “Neckermann” but also French catalogs like “Daxon” have been regular customers. She also appeared on international covers such as the UMM, Urban Male Magazine Canada. Furthermore, she represented clients such as Zalando, KIA, Henkel, Lidl, Jentschura, Mercedes-AMG etc.
Thus Anne Julia was able to financially manage to attend longtime internships for her Studies abroad e.g. the German Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, where she supported the political department.
In between, she was crowned Miss Germany 2010 and Miss Universe Germany 2013, and competed at the end of the same year for the Miss Universe title in Moscow, Russia. With her gained experience at red carpet events such as Cannes' Amfar Gala and the national Raffaello Summer Day, as well as on TV etc., the Miss Germany Corporation commissioned Anne Julia to give classes during the annual Miss Germany Beauty Camps in order to teach the contestants how to behave and speak in front of clients and in public.
Anne Julia was keen to return something from all the good she had encountered, and founded a charity organization called “Der Lernpate – Kinder für Kinder”. The organization offered private tuition for more than one year from students for students with a foreign background and a lack of knowledge in German in order to help them integrate. The volunteering tutors were recruited by Anne Julia herself in her former high school and taught in an elementary campus nearby where social support was also needed.
Anne Julia is currently based in Miami, with her modeling agency Wilhelmina Models where she continues her Ph.D.
She travels frequently between the United States and Europe.
